Autumn Dawn Stringam
Autumn Dawn Stringam passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in her home in Nampa, Idaho, following a long and courageous battle with Stiff Person Syndrome.
Early Life
Autumn was born on January 28, 1973, in Trail, British Columbia, to Anthony Frederick Stephan and Debora Cornellia Starr Prete. She spent her childhood moving throughout northern Alberta, Canada, experiences that helped shape her adaptability, compassion, and deep understanding of people from all walks of life.
Marriage & Family
Autumn met her husband, Dana Ray Stringam, in Edmonton in a story she often told with humor and warmth. The two quickly fell in love and were married just five months later. Together they built a life rooted in faith, creativity, and devotion to family.
As a mother, Autumn poured her heart into raising her four children—James, Samantha, Melanie, and Meagan. Her love for art, sewing, baking, and homemaking flourished alongside motherhood, and her home was always filled with beauty, warmth, and a sense of welcome.
Talents, Creativity & Service
Autumn lived a life marked by service, generosity, and charity. For the past 17 years, her Nampa home was a place of refuge and belonging for many. She possessed extraordinary creative gifts and was truly an artist in every sense. She sewed prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding gowns, and countless theater costumes for local productions. She painted, sculpted fabric into intricate trees, baked and decorated elaborate wedding cakes, and captured sacred places—including a painted landscape of the Cardston Temple, where she was sealed to Dana.
Autumn was a true jack of all trades, able to accomplish whatever she set her mind to. She also authored and published a personal memoir and essay book, sharing her reflections, faith, and lived experiences with others. Her dedication to community service was evident through her involvement in helping establish JustServe in the Treasure Valley, a cause close to her heart.
Those who knew Autumn remember her trademark smile, bright eyes, and gentle presence that immediately put others at ease. Many described her as a true representative of Jesus Christ, reflecting His love through her actions and compassion.
