Mary Kathrine (Kirsch) Melton, age 62, of Nampa Idaho passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Thursday morning, August 12th, 2021, after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born at the Magic Valley Memorial hospital in Twin Falls on May 6th, 1959, being the 7th of nine children born to Robert (Bob) and Kathleen (Kay) Kirsch. She attended Catholic Elementary school in Twin Falls until the 3rd grade where her family moved to Boise, Idaho. After moving to Boise, she attended St. Marie's Catholic School, Hillside Jr. High and Capital High School. In her early years, Mary enjoyed equestrian therapy, to teach those with special needs how to ride horses. Mary's deep love for horses lead her to work at the Les Bois Race track as a groom and assistant trainer. In 1980, there at the race track, is where she met the love of her life of over 42 years, Steve. On December 7th, 1982, they got married in Boise, Idaho. They brought two sons into the world, Jason Michael Melton and Jared Wilson Melton (Jessica Melton) granddaughters Audrey and Isabella. After spending ten years at the Race track, she began working at the Amalgamated Sugar Company for ten years followed by working at Walmart for twenty years until her illness. There at Walmart, family always enjoyed visiting her stocking aisles and getting a warm embrace from her. Working at Walmart over the years she made many friends who she would speak of for years to come. In addition of her love for horses, Mary greatly enjoyed the outdoors; camping, boating and especially fishing. She had a heart for those who got picked on and befriended them dearly. Mary was most content with a fishing pole and a smile on her face. On any given Saturday you could find Mary with garden tools in hand. Two days before she passed, she was driving to her favorite spot, CJ Strike, pulling their boat attached to the back. She was a fierce fighter against pancreatic cancer and was strong till the end and was loved by many. She is survived by husband Steve; sons Jason and Jared (Jessica); granddaughters Audrey and Isabella. Siblings; brothers Martin, (Sharon) and Larry (Dawn) Kirsch and sisters Margaret (Wayne) Morrison and Michaelle (Gene) Powell. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in passing by her beloved parents Robert and Kathleen Kirsch and brothers Robert Jr, Richard, Jim and Timothy. Funeral service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, August 21st at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, located at 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa,ID 83651.
