Jolene Gray Krahenbuhl, 62, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday afternoon, July 18, 2021 after her journey with cancer. She later moved to Boise where she attended and graduated from Capital High School. She continued her education at Brigham Young University and later earned her Master's Degree in accounting at Boise State University. Jolene met her sweetheart at an Institute choir practice where Ken, as a greeter, shook her hand and asked, "Have I met you before?" They were married April 21, 1978 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have eight wonderful children and 18 grandchildren. When she was questioned why she had so many children, Jolene would reply, "I was investing in grandchildren!" Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Ken and Jolene raised their family in Houston and Dallas, Texas; Seattle, Washington; and Nampa, Idaho. No matter where she lived, you would find Jolene with a hammer ready to take on a project. After 27 years of marriage, Ken died in 2005 while they were living in Nampa. Music was always a big part of their home and Jolene's family loved listening to her play the piano. In her spare time, she loved to paint and her home was filled with her beautiful landscape and watercolor artwork. Jolene loved to travel and some of her favorite places were the Holy Land, the Great Wall of China, and Antarctica. She had a goal to visit every continent and was able to fulfill her dream a week before she passed when her family put together an Australia night. Jolene had a deep legacy of faith in Jesus Christ and lived a devoted life of love and service to her family and Heavenly Father. Her favorite scripture, Proverbs 3:5-6, defined the life she lived: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
