Brenda Kay Wood

On July 20, 2021, after a courageous 3 year, 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer, we lost Brenda Kay Wood, beloved wife to Ken Knopp, daughter of Floyd and Margaret, sister to Janell, Sherri, and Mark, and mother to Jaunice Cottone, Garri Scopelliti, and Brooke Ranck. Brenda joins her sister Janell in heaven. Brenda is also mother to her 4 shar-peis, Meina, Polly, Kayla, and Fiona, her horse Mia, and her cat Bo. She was born January 24, 1959 to Floyd and Margaret Wood and raised in Marsing, Idaho, where she completed high school. As a single mother to her 3 young daughters, Brenda earned her Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degree at the University of South Florida in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She returned to Idaho to start her own consulting firm. She taught at Boise State University and the University of Idaho. And, she built her own dog training service. She was at home with farmers, ranchers, and PhD professors. On February, 2, 2002, she married Ken Knopp and was looking forward to their 20th wedding anniversary. Brenda's family is grateful for the love and care that she received at MSTI (now known as St. Luke's Cancer Institute), after receiving 83 chemotherapy sessions and 24 radiation treatments. Her care providers often called her a pillar of strength. This is no surprise to her friends and family, as Brenda is well known for her bold, witty personality. She was a role model to many women and her personality lives on through her daughters and other women she has influenced. Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. Nampa, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Venmo @BrendaWoodMemorial to help cover funeral costs, food for our guests joining us in mourning, as well as a donation to PanCan to help continue to fund research for and support those with pancreatic cancer." A ZOOM link has been provided for family and friends who are unable to attend the services.
