R. Paul Sleight born March 23, 1957 to Jennie and Doyle Sleight in Montpelier, Idaho. He returned to his heavenly home October 21, 2021 in Boise, Idaho. He is survived by his sisters Karen Hayes and Pamela Schipper, by his loving wife of 43 years, his eternal companion Diane Sleight. Their seven children Angela Thompson, Marc Sleight, Scott Sleight, Nikki Brockopp, Dani Barker, Lorin Garcia, (Victor Garcia) and Samantha Hanson, (Dean Hanson), and all his loving grandchildren Kira, Preston, (Madi), Kylie, Paige, Nic, Carson, Joseph, Miri, Jaxon, Lucy, Foster, Ellie, and Daisy.Paul cherished his family and spending time with them. He loved taking long family drives, reunions at Bear Lake, and an (almost) friendly game of cards. Paul always had a way of filling a room full of laughter with his sense of humor and sarcasm. He loved teasing someone, which in certain situations, caused the need for Diane to threaten to separate him and the others involved. As he would say "separate me from myself?" or "What are you going to do? Send me to my room where all my stuff is?" Paul was there to lend a helping hand whenever he could and never wanted any credit or recognition. His faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his family always came first. He stood up for what he believed in and loved a good debate (as long as he was right). He sought after bigger and better things, from career changes to moving to new locations with the support of his wife who stood by his side.Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Jennie and Doyle Sleight and his brothers Scotty and D. Wayne Sleight.Paul will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. What gave him peace before his return to Heavenly Father was the knowledge that Families are Forever and he has an amazing one. If he was given the chance he would have left us saying "See you in the funnies"The family of Paul will receive family and friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, October 29, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel located at 83 N. Midland Blvd. in Nampa. We invite you leave messages of condolences, thoughts or memories on our tribute wall.
