Floyd Charles Gibson Jr.

Floyd Charles Gibson Jr., 61, passed away on December 7, 2017 due to a Semi-truck/Train accident in Caldwell, Idaho. Floyd "Bub" was born to Floyd Charles Gibson Sr. and Clara "Wanda" Allen Gibson on September 7, 1956 in Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He grew up in a military family and moved several times including Massachusetts, San Diego, Michigan, Alaska, Hawaii, California, until his Dad retired from the Navy and settled in Nampa, Idaho in 1966, when he was 10 years old. He attended Midway Elementary, Vallivue High and Nampa High School until he graduated in 1974. The Gibson family owned Idaho Cruiser Manufacturing and during his high school years he helped with the family business building camper doors. He continued working to help build the family business and when the family started FCG Transportation, a trucking business, he managed the office. The family also owned Therm-Ox, a hazardous waste transportation company, where he was the CEO. When he moved to Arizona, he ventured out into a new field servicing pools. He eventually went back to trucking where he was hired with Capurro Trucking, a mining company, out of Nevada. For the past seven years he worked at Intermountain Wood Products delivering wood supplies. He recently was hired on as a driver with Nampa Paving until the time of his death. Floyd loved driving truck, which allowed him to visit with those on his weekly routes and the opportunity it gave him to meet new people. On June 26, 1976 he married Elicia Ormsby and five and a half years later they were divorced. August 24, 1996, he married Rhonda Grantz, which also later ended in a divorce. In 1988 he met LeAnne Hytrek Turner at a restaurant in Boise. They spent 20 years dating off and on and were eventually married in October 2007 and after a year he was sealed to his "Sweet Pea" in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Floyd and LeAnne lived in Arizona from December 1998 until they moved to Elko, Nevada in 2007. It was while there that he chose to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving with LeAnne in their church callings, with his most favorite being a teacher to the 3-year-old Sunbeam class for four years. He had a strong love for little ones and they could easily connect with his child-like spirit and easily loving him right back. He served as an employment specialist for their ward for four years and was also a Cub Scout leader with LeAnne for a couple of years. He was always so willing to serve the most important people in his life, his family! He loved serving his family and spending time with them every chance he could get and would drop anything to go help them with whatever they were in need of. He was known to be one of the happiest individuals you could run into. His laugh was boisterous and contagious and he loved to be a big tease to everyone. He was known by many names, Floyd, Bub, Uncle Bub, Papa Floyd, Uncle Flo and Grandpa. He had a passion and love for the outdoors, fishing and riding 4-wheelers were some of his most favorite hobbies. One of the things he really loved doing most was taking time to teach the kids to fish. He was so patient with them as he taught them how to do it and he just found joy in watching and celebrating with them in their excitement when catching a fish or if nothing was caught, just being able to spend that one on one precious time with them. He was an avid spectator and spent many days in bleachers or on sidelines watching and supporting family members participate in sports including soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, dance, skiing and basketball. One of Floyds favorite adventures to look forward to was spending time with LeAnne and their "babies" (two dogs) in the mountains relaxing and having the most fun riding four-wheelers, running the dogs, BBQing steaks, and being able to just be lazy together. His most precious possessions were his "Babies" Skyler and Bella, his beautiful Weimaraner dogs. He was excited that in the beginning of January 2018 Bella's new puppies would be arriving. Floyd Charles Gibson Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Floyd Charles Gibson Sr. and Clara "Wanda" Allen Gibson Marko along with his two nephews Zachary L.J. Gibson and Brad Hytrek. Floyd is survived by so many who loved and adored him, his wife LeAnne Hytrek Turner Gibson and her three sons, Shawn (Melanie) Turner and their two children Madison and Hayden, Shane Turner and Ryan (Pamela) Turner and their four children Bayden, Ava, Londyn and Crew. His three sisters, Wanda (Larry) Stevenson, Debbie Gibson-Brown (Mark) and Tammy Downey. Floyd was always super proud to be known as "Uncle Bub" to so many nieces and nephews whom he also leaves behind, Doug (Casie) Stevenson, Lisa (Brett) Klinchuch, Jon (Leah) Ekberg, Jason Brown, Joe Brown and Raven Downey. He was extremely proud to be a Great Uncle to Austin (Bianca) Stevenson, Alexis (Bronson) Twitchell, Caden Stevenson, Sierra and Aspen Klinchuch and Olivia and Jordan Ekberg. He most recently became a Great, Great Uncle to Kynzlee Kay Stevenson and Easton LeGrand Twitchell and he loved making them smile. He was known as "Uncle Flo" and "Papa Floyd" by many other great nieces and nephews on the Hytrek side as well. Kelly (Joe) Snyder and their son Ethan. Kimber (Tyler) Hess and their three boys Peyton, Kolton and Quinton. Krista (Trevor) Frahm and their four children Tevan, Nikki, Tanner and Erik. Brett (Krista) Hytrek and Brendan (Adrianna) Hytrek and their son Matthew. Danielle Shaw and her three children Alec, Riley and Christian and one more on the way. If you ever spent the time talking with Floyd, your conversation never ended without one of his famous sayings "Keep Smiling!" He just left you feeling good inside every time you saw him.
