Patti Ann Nancolas, 60, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed peacefully from this life and returned home to her Heavenly Father on April 11, 2017 after a courageous 9 month battle with cancer. She was born April 16, 1956 in Nampa, Idaho to Harvey LeRoy Miles and Ermadean Taylor Miles. Patti had many fond childhood memories with her two older brothers, Bob and Tom Miles. She attended school in Notus and Caldwell; graduating from Caldwell High in 1974. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael P. Nancolas, on November 1, 1974 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They made Caldwell their forever home, and were blessed with four children: Paige, Jake, Melissa, and Sammi Jo. Patti found her greatest joy in life while working with children in the schools and in her church. She wanted to make sure every child she saw felt special and knew that they could accomplish anything they wanted. Her smile was contagious and lit up the room--you couldn't be in a bad mood when Patti was around. It didn't matter who you were, Patti was your Mom, your friend, and your biggest cheerleader. Stranger or not, you were greeted with a hug and a kiss. You always knew who Patti Nancolas was cheering for at a sporting event, and she loved every minute she spent watching her children and grandchildren play ball. Her love of life was never more evident than when she was watching performances, listening to or playing music. Patti shared that love of music with her children and was always the first mom to volunteer to help with school musicals and chaperone every one of their school trips. Patti's four children live in the Treasure Valley with their families and learned from her example of charity and how to love one another. Her life was her family. Some of her family's most cherished memories were of the trips taken with Mom and Grandma to Disneyland; she definitely fit in at the Happiest Place on Earth. Patti was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and lived her life as she believed. Her testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, was shown through her service in the Primary and Young Women organizations.Patti is survived by her husband Michael Nancolas; her daughter Paige (Kent) Shurtleff of Nampa, her son Jake (Kim) Nancolas of Caldwell, her daughter Melissa (Jacob) Chandler of Caldwell, and her daughter Sammi Jo (Brad) Burbank of Caldwell. Her legacy includes her 12 grandchildren whom she adored. She is also survived by her brothers Bob (Carol) Miles of Marsing, and Tom (Jil) Miles of Meridian. Patti was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Ermadean Miles, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Joyce Nancolas. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Pulver, Holly Swenson P.A., and the nurses at St. Alphonsus Cancer Center who became a special part of her life; and to those at Harrison's Hope Hospice, Total Body Wellness, as well as the staff at West Valley Medical Center for the care and grace shown to their wife and mother. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 21 at the Caldwell LDS Stake Center, 3015 S. Kimball Ave., Caldwell. The family would like to welcome all to a viewing at the church, Thursday, April 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. Friday prior to the services. Arrangements are being provided by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa, 467-7300. Patti will be laid to rest at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Idaho. Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com
