Lavina "Lynn" Johnson Burnett, 62, passed away on May 31, 2018 at her home in Nampa with her family beside her. She bravely fought cancer for over six years.Lynn was born March 6, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington to Charles and Gloria (Owens) Johnson being the first child of nine, with five sisters and three brothers: Kevin (Josefina) Johnson, Brenda Braden, Lorrie (Steve) Freeman, Diana (Dave) Murray, Lisa (Tracy) Gale, Brian Johnson, Jennifer (Keith) Whiting, Jonathon (Leah) Johnson. Lynn set a great example by always working hard, doing well in school and looking for the best in people. She was the peacemaker of the family. To know her was to love her.Lynn attended school in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School. As a young girl, Lynn learned how to play the violin, piano and later the organ. She loved music and played with much joy. We spent countless hours singing around the piano. Lynn married the love of her life, Keith Burnett on June 23, 1979 in Nampa, Idaho. They lived in Nampa and in California. Lynn was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, wife, friend and a wonderful 2nd mother to Hannah and "Nana" to Olivia. She loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews, and will be missed dearly.Lynn loved to sew, making everything from Barbie and doll clothes, baby blankets, quilts, prom and wedding dresses, matching shirts and pajamas. She could sew anything and always with great love. Giving to and serving others would put a big smile on her face.Lynn collected Barbie's and dolls. Keith would make sure that each Christmas she had the newest holiday Barbie.Lynn and Keith loved to ride their Harleys. They enjoyed the peace of riding and seeing the beautiful world God created.Lynn loved her Heavenly Father and serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings over the years. Playing the organ and being in the primary is where she loved to be. Service was an important part of her life.Lynn worked for 25 years at Brown Bus and Western Mountain Bus Sales. She loved her job and all the people she worked with. Lynn recently retired in January 2018. It was difficult for her to leave a career she loved so much.Lynn was preceded in death by her husband Keith Burnett on March 4, 2018 and her mother Gloria (Owens) Johnson on December 18, 2016Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 8 at the Nampa Sixth Ward LDS Chapel, 121 North Canyon St in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd and again Friday, at the church from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services.Very special thanks to the amazing members of the Nampa 6th Ward for their love, support and compassion.
