Tina LaVon Cecil passed away on October 8, 2019, on her birthday, in Meridian, Idaho, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born to Gary Paul Utley and Gladys Dawn Enos on October 8, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Tina grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Salinas, California. She attended Douglas and Webster elementary schools in Salt Lake City. She moved to Salinas at the age of 12 to live with her uncle Gerald (Jerry) and Sharon Harlan; she loved them so very much. She attended Salinas high school and later graduated in early childhood education and literature at Hartnell College. She raised her children in Manteca, California. She married John G. Cecil November 26, 2004, in the Oakland, California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tina is survived by her husband; aunt, Mary Tueller; sisters-in-law Carmen Bernal, Rosa Bernal Amezcua; brothers-in-law: Arnulfo, Armando, and Javier Bernal; children: Ross J Winkelmann, R James Winkelmann, Elizabeth W. Moore, Ernestina Moitoso; stepchildren: Stacy Winkelmann Illig, Jill Cecil, John V. Cecil, Jody C. Waters, Jennifer C. Griffiths, and Janet Cecil; grandchildren: Ezmae, Azura, Kayla, Kiara, Braeden, Ashley, Mark, Christopher, and Nicole; cousins: Robin, Tammy, Robert, Gerald Jr, Jackie, Windy, and Carl.Tina loved her family, organizing her home, cooking, painting, genealogy, gardening, preparing spices, holidays, decorating the home, reading children's books (Rain Makes Applesauce), her devotion to church and God, her Bible hero Esther, helping the less fortunate, her primary class children, The Disney Store, and serving in the community. Tina always had the kindest heart, a pleasant smile, and was an angel to all that knew her. She had a lifelong aspiration to learn the piano and did so in 2018. All will sorely miss her.Tina and John started Select Tax & Bookkeeping in Rocklin, California, in 2009. She was Vice President of Marketing. Tina was an Ambassador of the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce for nine years and was the Ambassador of the Year from 2012 through 2016, after which Tina was Team Leader Ambassador for two years before moving to Idaho. During her Rocklin Ambassadorship, she headed the Adopt-A-Family program which provided a wonderful Christmas to less fortunate families in the community. It was very dear to her heart.Member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Ambassador of the Year. Member of the Lincoln Women's Club. She was always there to volunteer and help in any way.Services will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, October 16, at The Church located at 7809 Deer Flat Road in Nampa with a viewing from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the services.
