Bradley Kay Hofhines

Bradley Kay Hofhines unexpectedly passed away at home on September 3, 2019. Brad was born in Idaho Falls, ID on September 23, 1953, the 4th of 6 children to Wayne Hofhines and Arlene Deon Hawker Hofhines. His siblings included Christina (Tucker) Evans, LaWayne Hofhines, Cheryl (Al) Morgan, Lana (Jim) Barlow, and Jay Hofhines. His mother was later remarried twice. First to Paul Niedig, and his sister Tina joined the family. Then to Ronald Drake and the family was blessed by the addition of Leon (Annette) Drake and Sandy (Van) Tuckett. His childhood involved frequent moves from one city to another in both Idaho and Utah, including Grant, Roberts, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Boise, ID and Midvale, UT. Brad lived an active life, highlighted by countless days and nights hunting, fishing, hiking and riding motorcycles through the mountain ranges of Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and California. As a teen and young adult, he was a passionate athlete, filling the position of running back in football, and guard or small forward in basketball. He was famous for his long-range hook shot! He also took every opportunity he could to attend any car show within driving distance. The old Hot Rods had a special place in his heart! He graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, but often recalled his many friendships with classmates from his time at Rigby High School as well. He briefly attended Ricks College and continued playing football as a running back. But his football days were cut short by a severe knee injury in his first season. At that time, he chose to pursue his career ambitions in business and management, but ultimately found his passion and success in financial planning. He cherished every moment with his immediate and extended family. Shortly after graduating from high school he married Jill Worton. Together, they had 3 sons: Justin (kids - Ashlyn (Josh) French, Kalli, Paige & Kyra), Jarvis and Zachary (Kari / Grayson) Lundeen. After a divorce in 1979, he met and married Carole A. Estep in 1980 and they had 3 more sons: Brandon (Chelsea /Braxton & Danton), Trenton James "TJ" (Hillary / Kimber, Kenzie, Kora & Kevyn) and Bradley "Dexter" (Claudia). A second divorce led to a couple years as a bachelor. But through what may be called a 'miracle", because it required Dad to navigate the internet - which was like mixing water and oil - Dad met his sweet wife Debbie who graciously agreed to take him under her wing for the rest of eternity. With Dad and Debbie joining forces, he was able to embrace and enjoy her 3 children and their families: Jeremy Berntson, Jessica (Jake / Lexie, Lizzie, Charlie & Ellie) Taylor, and Beau (Jacque / Beaudee) Stoddard. And, in these last few years he was able to share many enjoyable experiences, talking and relaxing with his dear mother-in-law, Shirley Ueda. He was never afraid of hard work and never hesitated to step in when he saw a need. He enjoyed serving in multiple capacities as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He amazed many over the years with his strong tenor - bass voice that would regularly touch the hearts of groups large and small. He will be remembered and missed for his endless love and service, both his gentle loving smile and his unmistakable look of mischief when he was chasing or tickling his (16) grandkids, and his driven dedication in all that he did. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Chris; two brothers, LaWayne and Jay; and a grand-daughter, Kevyn. A Celebration of Life will be held for Brad Hofhines on Sept 28, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 22500 Lansing in Middleton, Idaho. Dedication of the grave at Melba Cemetery immediate afterwards. Family is invited back to the church for a late lunch or early dinner.
