Anita Jolene Burton

Anita Burton of Caldwell, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 16, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Anita was born on April 26, 1953, in Burley, Idaho. She was the youngest child of Leland Royce Gamble and Dora Holmes Gamble, originally of Grantsville, UT. They raised their family in the Caldwell area and Anita attended Caldwell Schools. At the age of 14, Anita met who would become the love of her life, Michael Burton, and they later married on June 11, 1971. They were later sealed as a couple and as a family in the LDS Temple in Logan, UT. Anita was the consummate homemaker excelling in sewing, crochet, and many other handicrafts. She is best known for her cooking and she will be fondly remembered for some of her favorite dishes by friends and family alike. She and Michael raised six children, adored their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved spending time together as a family as often as possible. Anita loved travelling, enjoying journeys to the Oregon Coast, ocean beaches, and was a frequent and enthusiastic visitor of Disneyland with her family. Anita is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Michael, who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her six children: Tammery (John) Reid of Redding, CA, Kenneth (Adriana) Burton of Caldwell, ID, Tobius Burton of Caldwell, ID, Leland (Elesha) Burton of Caldwell, ID, Daniel (Michelle Elaine) Burton of Caldwell, ID and Terrance (Michelle Annette) Burton of Mabank, TX. Anita also has four grandsons, five granddaughters, three great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two brothers Monty L. Gamble of Boise, ID, Fred D. Gamble of Twin Falls, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Idaho and Utah. She was preceded in death by both parents; a brother (Jerry Gamble, of Eagle, ID); and a sister (Bonnie Laib, of Boise, ID). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3015 S. Kimball Ave in Caldwell with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment to follow services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 15862 Indiana Ave, Caldwell 83607.
