James Raymond Ervin

James "Jim" Raymond Ervin, beloved brother, husband, father, and papa passed away April 30, 2022, in St Luke's hospital in Boise, ID after a lengthy illness. Jim was born on July 14, 1952, in San Francisco to his father, Leon Recker and mother, Mary Helen Turner-Recker, first child of three. Jim graduated from Madera High School in 1970. He joined the Navy shortly after graduation and spent four years aboard the USS Pigeon, a submarine rescue ship. After his time in the Navy Jim went on to graduate from Fresno State University with a master's degree in education and taught grade school, mostly 6th grade, for over 30 years in California. Jim married Marilyn Sue O'Rourke on June 25, 1988, in Madera, CA. They met while bowling summer league in 1987 that carried over to winter league and a permanent partnership. Jim and Marilyn moved to Nampa, ID in 2009, and lived there for almost 13 years. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Donn Ervin. He leaves behind is wife, Marilyn; his son, Ronald James O'Rourke and Ron's wife Tammy; and two grandsons, Nathaniel James O'Rourke and Zachary Charles O'Rourke; niece Jenny Ervin and nephew Bobby Ervin; sister Sharon Oustad and two nephews Jason Horsman and Jerred Horsman; and two great-nephews Colby Horsman and Tanner Horsman.
