Diane Kay Bowen Yarrington

Diane Kay Bowen Yarrington, 65, passed away on May 08, 2018 in Meridian, Idaho. She was born June 25, 1952 in Boise, Idaho to Lewis Leroy and Betty Lou Moffett Bowen. Diane grew up in Meridian graduating from Meridian High School. She received her Registered Nursing Degree from Boise State University (when it was Boise State College), a Bachelor's degree from BYU, and a Master of Health Service Administration from Arizona State University. She held several positions within the Department of Health and Welfare over the span of 23 years. During this time she had the privilege of working in the Division of Public Health and the Division of Medicaid. Diane married Alan Yarrington September 09, 1996 in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple. In the latter part of her working career, she and Alan decided to adopt children from the Ukraine; Yuri, age 6 and Alla, age 9 made their family complete. Diane then took a break from her career to raise her children, helping them to read, understand their new culture and embrace family life. This life changed with the passing of her beloved Alan which took them to Blackfoot where she held the position of Assistant Hospital Administrator at State Hospital South for six and a half years. She retired May 05, 2017. "In all honesty, my time here at SHS has been my favorite. It has been an honor to work with the high caliber of people found on staff at SHS." Her retirement motto was "to do less and enjoy more." Diane was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various capacities as Ward organist, Primary teacher, Young Women advisor, Relief Society, and Family History Consultant. She had a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and possessed amazing faith. She was devoted to those she served - both family and friends. We will miss her love, laugh, generosity, and her great example of enduring to the end. Diane is survived by her children Alla, Yuri and grandson Xerces; brother Reid (Sue) Bowen of Idaho Falls; sisters Nancy (Kevin) Howard of Twin Falls and Peggy (Ross) Barson of Meridian. She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Betty; her husband Alan and many dear aunts and uncles. Services will be held Thursday May 17 in Blackfoot at Blackfoot East LDS Stake Center, 1289 Mt. Putnam Drive; viewing 5:30-6:30 pm and service 6:30-8:00pm. Services will also be held May 18 in Meridian at the Meridian West LDS Stake Center, 1985 North Black Cat Road; viewing 1:00-2:00pm and Interment following at the Meridian Cemetery, 895 East Franklin Road.
