J. Acencion Colunga Contreras

J. Acencion Colunga Contreras, 68, of Zacatecas passed away with family by his side on May 17, 2021. He was born May 21, 1952 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Juana Contreras and Raphael Colunga. He married Guillermina Colunga in 1978. They had five children together: Gerardo, Gina, Mario (Amanda), Noe (Vacillia), and Mariana, all which live locally. He had 16 grandchildren: Erika Naranjo, Myriam Frausto, Denise Long, Andre Long, Tyana Frausto, Mia Colunga, Alonso Colunga, Jazmine Colunga, Liliana Colunga, Anjelica Colunga, Gianna Reyna, Adriana Colunga, Evalyn Colunga, Anthony Colunga, and Camilla Colunga. Acencion was a hardworking man, who drove tractors, operated heavy machinery, and maintained crops in the fields of Melba and Nampa for 43 years. He retired in 2018. His pride and joy included spending time with family, talking with friends/family over the phone, driving to casinos with Ismael, horse races, and scratching lottery tickets. He had a great love for his children and each of their own. He will be remembered for the enormous amount of love he had for his family, his selfless actions, his work ethic, his unique humor, and his mischievous behavior. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife; five children; two brothers and five sisters: Graciela Colunga of Nampa, Guadalupe Colunga of Caldwell, Socorro Colunga of Mexico, Chencha Colunga of Mexico, Luz Colunga of Mexico, Dionisio Colunga of Nampa, Pedro Colunga of Melba; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; and his sister, Narcisa Colunga. The family would like to thank his wife for her loving care, as well as St. Alphonsus, Dr. Buxton, Liberty Dialysis of Nampa, and all others who have provided excellent care for Acencion.
