Hazel Diane Perry

Hazel Diane Perry, our beloved daughter, mother, grandma, and especially our friend, was taken home by her Heavenly Father on a beautiful Sunday morning, June 8, 2014. She died in a one car roll-over while coming home from her cousin's funeral. Diane was born on February 16, 1952 to William and Billie (Bryan) Barnard in Gooding, Idaho. As Diane was growing up, she would spend time at her grandparent's house in Rockland, Idaho where she learned many skills, like how to pluck a chicken, from her loved Grandma Bryan. Diane graduated from Hanson High School in 1970 and attended Boise State University's business administration program and education program. In April 1974, she married Melvin Perry and had three children before divorcing in 1989. Diane worked as a dedicated and hardworking paralegal for many years to support her family, and was someone who could still be relied upon even after retiring in 2010. Diane loved to travel anywhere the road would take her as long as she had a comfortable bed to sleep in at night. Diane was an amazing seamstress. She loved to sew clothes and blankets for herself and for her family, and was sometimes even asked to sew a dress the night before a big event. Her creations were gorgeous. Diane also enjoyed working in her garden. She talked daily to her beautiful collection of house plants because she believed it helped them grow. When she had a moment to rest, Diane would enjoy reading her collection of mystery novels. But most of all, Diane loved being a grandma and taking care of her two little grandsons, Jerith and Alex. Diane was preceded in death by her father, William C. Barnard, and infant grandson, Kristopher James Perry, whose headstone she decorated just two hours before her accident. Diane is survived by her mother, Billie Barnard-Nelson, brother Dale (Susan) Clifton, step-brothers Rick and Ron (Janet) Nelson, children: Stephen O. Perry (Melanie), Michael W. Perry, Heather D. Perry;, grandchildren: Ashley, Raquel, Kyle, Jerith and little Alex; and aunts, uncles, and many cousins whom she loved very much.
