Linda Diana (Geier) Johnson, Nampa, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, after battling cancer. Linda was born on July 25, 1950. She is the second of seven children born to George and Nola Geier. Linda graduated from St. Paul's School in 1964, and Nampa High School in 1968. She went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse ("LPN"), training at Mercy Medical Center, and eventually working for a number of years at Mercy Hospital. Later, she changed career paths and obtained an Associate's Degree in horticulture from Boise State University. She spent the next twenty years working for the City of Nampa in the Parks Department. Her pride and joy was caring for the rose garden in Lakeview Park, where she also often conducted classes in the care of roses. Linda married Gary Johnson in 1971 and for a brief period lived in Homedale, Idaho. After she divorced, she remained in Nampa, caring for and raising her two beautiful children, Jeffery James Johnson and Jennifer Joann Johnson. During her life, Linda loved to travel, making several trips to the Oregon Coast and to the Redwoods in California, among other destinations. She enjoyed weekends in Donnelly fishing, being surrounded by family and was not beyond an occasional trip to Nevada to try her luck in the casinos, where she always broke even. She enjoyed, most of all, her annual trips to Disneyland which spanned over eighteen years and with each year renewing her childlike excitement and wonder. Linda is survived by her son Jeffery Johnson (Brenda Watson) grandchildren, Kenneth Lynn and Mieka Ta-Doria Johnson and her daughter, Jennifer Johnson, grandson Michael James Johnson; by her parents, George and Nola Geier; by her siblings: Connie Aman (Leon), George R. "Bob" Geier, Jr. (Sandy), Patricia Geier, Pamela Dufoe (Jim), Judy Geier, James Geier (Nancy Fowler); her aunt Susan Geier; nieces and nephews: Sita Marion (Doug), Jessie Gilbert, Dale Aman, Jeremy Aman and Caleb Aman. Linda was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and by her niece, Cheryl Dufoe. Linda was greatly loved and is greatly missed. A memorial service will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa (467-7300) and a funeral mass to be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 510 W. Roosevelt Ave, Nampa with interment to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery, at Greenhurst and S. Powerline Rd. in Nampa. Linda's family sends a special thanks to Dr. Swerdloff and the staff at MSTI for their kindness, care and concern over the past two and one half years. We also thank St. Luke's Hospice, especially Leanne and Tami, for their wonderful help, kindness and support.
