Rosa Mendoza Ruiz

Rosa Mendoza Ruiz, 71, of Caldwell, Idaho passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from complications caused by covid-19. Rosa was born on August 30, 1949 in Weslaco, Texas to parents Juan and Maria de Jesus Mendoza. She worked hard in the fields with her family traveling the US and Mexico. Spanish being her main language, later in life she learned to speak English very well. She faced many hardships such as losing an infant son but survived these struggles along with her four young children at that time. Her life settled when she met Tomas Ruiz. Together they combined and raised their seven children. They had many challenges in life one being losing everything in an apartment fire. Another having a premature son, Tomas Jr., who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and confined to a wheelchair. Sadly, at the age of ten they lost him. Rosa lived with a broken heart which affected her the rest of her life. Rosa and Tomas spent 30 years together until his passing in 2004. Rosa was a Christian and had her faith that gave her peace. She was a member of Harvest Life Church. She loved to sing and feel the calmness that prayer provided. She loved her family very much and would pray to God to keep them all safe. She enjoyed a simple life and had many hobbies some of which included church, gardening, music, cooking and family gatherings. Rosa was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Despite all the challenges in life she never became bitter or angry at life. Family was by far the most important to her. She was so close to adopting her two grandchildren, Lilyanna and Ronaldo. She had a beautiful smile, loved to laugh and visit with friends and family. She truly was a beautiful lady in every way. She was preceded in death by her sons Juan and Tomas Jr.; her husband Tomas Ruiz; and her parents Juan and Maria; two sisters Francisca Mendoza and Alfonsa Castaneda; three brothers: Leopoldo Mendoza, Alberto Mendoza and Lonjino Mendoza. She is survived by her children: Teresa and Tony Vazquez, Jose and Jessica Guerrero, Margarita Velasquez, David and Guadalupe Guerrero, Carlos and Susan Ruiz, and Luis Ricardo Ruiz; 20 grandchildren: Gerardo, Juan Gabriel, Sergio, Iris, Nathaniel, Jaden, Joey, Jewel, Vanessa, Luis, Estrella, Lilyanna, Ronaldo, Naizaren, Willie, Tomas, Samuel, Dominic, Isaiah and Rosalinda; 10 great-grandchildren: Isael, Mirella, Giovanni, Delilah, Yadhira, Nayelli, Zsaiel, Zayrin, Eliaz, and Mateo; living siblings: Cirilo Mendoza, Rogelio Mendoza, Luis Mendoza, Amada Mendoza and Juanita Mendoza. Rosa will be laid to rest next to Tomas at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Funeral services are under direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 Harvest Life Church 11437 Orchard Ave, Nampa 83651 Viewing at the church at 10AM service to follow at 11AM.
