Charles F. Childers, 72, of Nampa, Idaho, passed through the veil on Sunday, October 17, 2021, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on August 19, 1949, in Montebello, California, the son of the late Ferice and Margie Childers. He was the oldest of three children. On August 16, 1986, he married Blue Perry, who survives him. Charley was best known for his wit and humor. He grew up in California and then spent his adult life complaining about Californians, and we love him for the irony. He spent 12 years as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. He was their District Training Chair and also the Webelos Leader. Charley was honored with the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award in scouting. He loved the youth and had a profound impact on many lives. Charley later became a volunteer instructor for Idaho Fish and Game where he taught Hunter, Bow Hunter, and Trapper education classes. He was a constant influence to the students that he came in contact with. He earned the Rookie of the Year, the Commissioner's "Continuing Our Heritage" Award, and was named Regional Instructor of the Year. He is survived by his wife, Blue Childers; step daughters Tami Canale and Lianne Henley Titus; his sons Benjamin and Matthew Childers; his brother Steve Childers; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charley was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gregory Childers. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Nampa for their excellent care and kindness. A celebration of Charley's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Greenhurst Rd between 6:00-9:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you celebrate Charley with a random act of kindness in his honor.
