Sandra K. Martell deeply loved her Lord and her family. She was called to her eternal home on September 16, 2020. Sandra was born on August 5, 1949 in Nampa, ID to the proud parents of Bennie and Doris O. Kindall. She and her two sisters grew up on a small acreage in Middleton, ID. Those years were filled with adventures and many memories--Sunday School, Sunday drives, camping and fishing with family, horseback riding, swimming in the canals and the Boise River to name a few! She attended grades 1-12 in Middleton graduating in 1967. After graduation she went to the U of I in Moscow and then to Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR.She Married Jim Martell in 1968 at the Church of God in Caldwell, ID. Two children were born of that union, a son Jason Bennett and daughter Ashley. They lived in the Greenleaf area for many years. They later bought a home on Hoskins Road near Wilder, ID.The nieces and nephews have fond memories of Aunt Sandra and the cousins on the farm....playing outside, exploring the outbuildings, the empty silo and swimming in the big round horse tank. There were occasional horseback rides with Aunt Sandra holding the lead rope. Sandra's love for children was seen in the way she loved her own. She loved her nieces and nephews and loved all the little ones at the Greenleaf Friends Academy pre-school where she worked for almost 25 years. At school they called her Miss Sandra. She was a compassionate and caring teacher!Sandra was a nature girl! She enjoyed numerous horseback and backpacking trips with her friends and family. One might have found her swimming in the cold creeks and mountain lakes or soaking in the water of the hot springs she loved! She had shared memories at Yellow Pine, Miracle, Silver Creek, Cascade, McCrays, Oregon Coast, Kauai, the Caribbean...and the list goes on. How blessed we all were to spend those times with her. She went to Isreal, a dream of hers, and took in every sight and sound...always expressing her gratitude. The highlight was her baptism in the Jordan River.Sandra enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, rock hunting, stargazing and moon watching. She cherished her animals, her most recent a puppy named Eppie! She went to church at the Oregon Trail Church of God and attended Bible Study Fellowship for many years. Her faith was strong! In these last few years, her excitement came from special times spent with her daughter Ashley and grandsons Ezekiel and Ahijah. She enjoyed trips to Oregon, holidays at home, always lighting a candle for her son Jason, and just being with her family. She is survived by Jim Martell; daughter Ashley Martell; grandsons Ezekiel and Ahijah Martell; her sisters DeAnna (Mark) Howard, Paula (Jim) Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews that she truly loved. She was preceded in death by her son Jason; grandparents Paul and Clara Obendorf; parents Bennie and Doris Kindall; and nephew Todd Goertzen. We will miss you Sandra, our Mama, Nana, Nene, Aunt Sandra and friend...you will be "Forever in our hearts"On behalf of our family, we would like to thank St. Al's Trauma Center and Zeyer Funeral Chapel for their care and compassion during this time of loss.A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, October 4, at the Greenleaf Cemetery in Greenleaf, ID.
