Randy Lee Nicholson

Randy Lee Nicholson, 69, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on December 21, 2018 at a local care center after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his sister Rhonda Lynsky and his father Avery Nicholson. Randy was born in Medford, Oregon on April 29, 1949 to Avery and Elizabeth Nicholson. He attended Nampa High School where he graduated in 1967. To this day he has many classmates who still meet regularly and are very close, including his best friend John Hess. Randy worked for Union Pacific Fruit Express for many years, between Portland, Oregon and Nampa, Idaho. Randy's passion was car racing; he attended many car races from Firebird Raceway to the Nascar circuit. Randy was and always will be a Ford Man. Randy attended the First United Methodist Church in Nampa until his illness would not allow him to attend any longer. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Nicholson of Nampa; three sons: Scott Murri of Nampa, Jeff Murri of Georgia and Brit Nicholson of Virginia; a daughter Jodi Durie of New York; 10 grandchildren; stepdaughter Danielle Tomer and stepgrandson Kyler Hampton with whom he was very close; mother Elizabeth Nicholson of Nampa; and brother Rod Nicholson of Nampa. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. (208-467-7300) Flowers may be received at the funeral chapel on that date of the services.
