Carl LaRen Petersen, 69, of Boise, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born June 3, 1948 in Logan, Utah. Later that year, Carl's family moved to the Marsing area where they ran a dairy and farmed until 2007. He attended Vallivue Schools and graduated in 1966. Much of his youth consisted of bucking bales and hefting milk cans. Wanting more, Carl worked to pay for his education, graduating from Boise State College with a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration in 1971. A Bronco for life! Utilizing his education, Carl purchased the franchise of the 7-Eleven store on the corner of Vista and Cherry Lane, which he cheerfully operated for 34 years. He was very well known and respected by the Boise Bench Community. He found life's love, and married Beth Bradley on August 8, 1981. His enjoyment came from spending time with his family, camping, hunting and fishing. There was also the yearly trip to Jackpot! Carl's door was always open for friends as well. As he got older, his family expanded as he made sure that everyone had a home to enjoy the holidays. Carl is survived by his wife Beth; daughters Nicole and Cari; son-in-law Ari; and four grandchildren: Matthew, Hayley, Christena and Adriane. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at MSTI and the St. Luke's staff for their outstanding support and care over the last year. A memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, at the LDS Church located at 3020 Cherry Lane in Boise. Friends may come to greet the family from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to the services.
