Denton Gene Roth, 68, left this world on Thursday, August 4, 2016, while camping at Warm Lake, Idaho. He was surrounded by people that loved him dearly, in a place that brought him peace and happiness. He will truly be missed. Denton was born in Albany, Oregon on December 10, 1947 to Eddie and Edith Roth. He was the youngest of four children. His family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957. In 1967 Denton joined the United States Army and he was soon deployed to Vietnam, where he served his country with pride. Denton moved to Reno, Nevada after his service ended. He then met his true soul mate and love of his life, Niki, his wife of 43 years. In 1977, Denton, Niki, and their two daughters moved to Nampa, Idaho where they completed their family with the birth of their son. One of the joys of their lives was that all of their children and grandchildren have always lived near them until he passed. Denton was a hard-working man who was considered a "jack of all trades." There was nothing he could not build or repair. He worked as a mechanic and facilities manager until he retired in December of 2013. From the day of his retirement he removed his wrist watch and refused to keep track of time. When asked what day it was he would always reply, "Every day is Saturday". Above all else Denton was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Denton enjoyed wood working, spending time in his yard and garden, and retirement. It allowed him to enjoy these passions at his leisure. He was a passionate man who loved spending time fishing, camping, golfing, and being with his family. He was a devoted sports fan that loved watching his Seahawks, his Mariners and his Boise State Broncos. One of his greatest sports moments was watching the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl in 2014. Denton is preceded in death by his father Eddie and his mother Edith. He is survived by his wife Niki, and his children: Sarah Holloway (Bill Holloway), Karen Daniel (Duane Daniel), & Bryan Roth (Lisa Roth). Denton was also survived by his 12 grandchildren (Tyler Hensley, Mitchell Hensley, Kellie Holloway, Austin Sims, Tialyr Holloway, Jonah Sims, Carli Holloway, Cameron Vinsonhaler, Jesse Holloway, Aiden Roth, Samuel Holloway & Brianna Roth) and his siblings: Rockey Roth (Elizabeth Roth) of Seattle, Washington, Sharon Buskey (Paul Buskey) of Boise, Idaho and Kay Yenerich (Bruce Yenerich) of Phoenix, Arizona. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 27th at 5:00 PM, at Denton and Niki's home. Denton loved many kids' sports activities and would love to know he could help those in need. In lieu of flowers feel free to make monetary donations to Niki Roth so that she can continue to provide assistance in accordance with Denton's wishes. "I don't want my life to be defined by what is etched on a tombstone. I want it to be defined by what is etched in the lives and hearts of those I've touched."
