Ronald Arthur Lemmon, 74, of Nampa died January 30, 2021 in Melba, ID as the result of a bicycle accident involving a vehicle. Ron was the son of Richard and Genevieve Lemmon. He lived and attended school in Durango, CO, graduating from Durango High School in 1965. After graduating, he received a full ride wrestling scholarship to the University of Utah. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in math. He taught math at East High School in Salt Lake City and coached wrestling. It was there that he met Karleen Gillespie and they were married in 1974. This union was blessed with four sons. They lived in Utah, Colorado, and Idaho. When Ron was a young teacher, he loved coaching wrestling. After moving to Idaho in 1983, he taught and coached wrestling at Meridian High School. After retiring from teaching in 1997, he helped coach wrestling at Kuna High School.Always up for a new physical challenge, he began bicycling in 2002. He has been a part of a cycling group in Nampa where he made many friends. Ron and I want to give special thanks to the owner and staff at Rolling H Cycles. With their help and support maintaining his bikes and being wonderful friends, everything kept on "rolling".Ron is survived by Karleen, his wife of 47 years; sons: Joe, Sam (Melissa), Dan (Nora) (with two grandchildren Khalil and Niyah), and John; a special young lady, Jessica Besel who came to live with the family in 1999. She stayed for 17 years and now lives in Boise; a nephew Rich Lemmon of Chicago.A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 6, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa.
