David Joe Felthoff, 75, of Nampa, Idaho passed away at 7:35 a.m., Sunday August 28, 2022, at St Lukes Hospital in Meridian, Idaho. Born to Kenneth B. and Mary (Cole) Felthoff on November 4, 1946, in Peru, Indiana, he was preceded in death by both. David was a retired tech sergeant in the United States Air Force, serving our country for over 20 years. He traveled the globe during his service and was stationed in Turkey, Egypt, Italy, England, Korea, and other deployments and in several states here in America. David was highly trained, receiving many certifications for intelligence and communications. He received the military excellence award, a meritorious service medal, and other honors over his long career. In 1985, David met his wife to be Kathy (Rio) at Mountain Home Air Force Base. After fixing a flat tire on her car, David asked as payment for her to fix him a cup of coffee. Her coffee was so weak that David had to show her what "real" coffee was and made a pot of "mud' according to Kathy. Their relationship grew and they were married on November 1, 1985. David quickly took to Steven her son and raised him as his own. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his new family, visiting Lake Lowell, Steck Park, Lucky Peak and other lakes, searching for that trophy bass or catfish. David was very loyal and honest in everything he did. He was an avid reader and a huge Garfield cartoon collector. He had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Kathy (Rio) Flethoff; stepson Steven Jones; his sons Kenneth and "Moose" of New Jersey; and a sister Susan Greer. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 8, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 7 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa.
