Wayne Ellis, 74, avid hunter and fisherman of Nampa, Idaho passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2020. Wayne was born April 28, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1948 his family left from there and moved to Corning, California, where he grew up. Wayne became a person who enjoyed having new experiences. While in high school he developed a wandering heart which led him to join the Navy in 1963. After his time in the Navy, Wayne returned to Corning but not for long. He continued to move around indulging in what life had to offer. In 1976 he settled in Nampa, Idaho where he met his wife Cheryl Lynn Hill. They went on to have two children Michael and Tammy. For a season, Wayne's wandering spirit and his need to experience life led him to a career of Truck driving. Eventually he left the open road and settled into a career of mechanic's where he developed a love for fixing what was broken and for maintaining its quality. These qualities spread out from his career into his everyday life. Wayne was a man of few words, but a man of action. He spent most of his free time helping others; whether it was by remodeling a house, fixing what was broken, or simply making sure people were provided with a meal when they were unable to come to family dinners. He was always looking for ways to be helpful to those with whom he shared his life. Wayne Ellis was preceded in death by his father William Ellis; mother Katherine Ellis; and brother Dale Ellis. Wayne is survived by two brothers; Chuck Ellis and George Ellis; his wife Cheryl Ellis; two children, Michael Ellis and Tammy Ellis Weekes; daughter-in-law Tera Ellis; son-in-law Mark Weekes; and four grandchildren: Christian Ellis, Justin Ellis, Joshua Ellis, and Thomas Ellis. He will be missed.. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 1pm in the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. Nampa.
