Robert Lynn Orndorf passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at a local hospital. Robert was born to Vivian Markle Orndorf and Norman Orndorf April 26, 1946 in Lockhaven, Pennsylvania. As a young man, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. After attending school in Pennsylvania, he enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17. He served two tours in Germany and three tours Viet Nam where he was wounded. He retired with 20 years and one day of service and rank of Sergeant First Class.Robert married Judith DeLong and they had three sons: Trent, Britton and Lance. They divorced and he later married Janett Golder. They adopted a child, Kevyn Orndorf.He moved to El Paso where he went to work as a Security Guard. He then joined the Campus Police for the Community College and later for the University of Texas at El Paso. He was selected as an Inspector for US Immigration Service, later transferring to US Customs service, both of which were later combined into Homeland Security. He worked on the Southern B order and took a two year tour of duty in preclearance at the Airport in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. He then transferred to the Northern Border in Eastport, Idaho. He was injured on the job and was given a disability from duty in 2003. He later moved to Loganton, PA to be near his sister, his children and grandchildren, and lived there for about five years, after which he moved back to Idaho, this time in the southern part of the state and lived in Nampa, Idaho until his death.He is survived by his wife Janett Orndorf; a sister, Helen Kay Goodman; two brothers, Kevin Orndorf and Bruce Orndorf; four sons: Trent, Britton, Lance and Kevyn Orndorf; stepson Tracy Golder; stepdaughter Shawna Golder; grandchildren: Nolan Orndorf, Gareth Orndorf, David Orndorf, Parker Orndorf, Trinity Golder, Bryan Golder, Ryshel Golder Duchene, Colby Orndorf, Molly Orndorf, Lacey Stratton Lee, Gary Stratton; and great-grandchildren Paislee Duchene and Torin Orndorf.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 18 at the Grace Episcopal Church located at 411 10th Ave S in Nampa with a viewing from 1:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the services.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity at www.dav.org or the American Legion Post 55 at www.legion.org.
