Ronald LaThare Hale

Ronald LaThare Hale passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, in Nampa. He was born February 22, 1946, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to J. LaThare Hale and Lois Reynolds Hale. He was the third of four children including Bob Hale, Nancy Hall, and Brent Hale. Ron grew up in Groveland and Blackfoot, Idaho. He enjoyed serving in the Boy Scouts, Order of the Arrow. In high school he liked track. He graduated in 1964 from Blackfoot High School. He attended Ricks College. He was called to serve in the South German Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning from his mission he attended BYU and graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and later earned a Master's degree from Florida Institute of Technology. He married Linda G. Bushman on January 24, 1968 in the Mesa LDS Temple. Ron served honorably in the U.S. Army for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Lt. Col. He served three tours in Germany. He loved the outdoors - hiking, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife Linda; his four children: N. Renae Hale, Kimberly Hale, Erika (Mike) Buchanan and Jeffrey (J. Dee) Hale; his three siblings; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 927 Ruth Lane in Nampa with a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Groveland Cemetery, 430 W. 200 N. in Blackfoot. Arrangements by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 208-467-7300.
