Kenneth Ted Jensen was born on July 23, 1945 in Ely, Nevada to Edith and Harold Jensen. He was raised in Ely with his sisters Garlene and Elodee and his brothers Max and Gary. He graduated high school in 1963. Ted met Linda Keough at Cumins Lake where they were both attending an ice-skating party. They dated for a year and a half and were married on June 6, 1965 in Ely, NV. They purchased their first home in Ely where they could be close to both of their parents. Ted worked for Kennycott, driving heavy trucks as well as in the warehouse. While living in Ely, Ted and Linda had two sons, Wayne and Troy. Their family enjoyed the outdoors and spent many weekends at Ruby's fishing and camping. Hunting was another of Ted's favorite activities. The family moved from Ely, NV to Pahrump, NV in 1983 so Ted could begin work as a procurement specialist at the Nevada Test Site. Ted was an invaluable employee whose strong work ethic was evident in everything he did. In his spare time, he continued to enjoy hunting and camping with his family. Ted and Linda moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1997 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. He and Linda loved spending time with their grandchildren and were always available to help anyone in the family. Their grandchildren all formed a special bond with their grandpa/papa and grew up knowing how treasured they each were. There was nothing Ted wouldn't do for his grandsons. After retirement in 2005, Ted and Linda moved to Nampa, Idaho. They enjoyed exploring new places in Idaho like Lake Lowell, McCall, Silverton, and Marsing. Ted and Linda enjoyed visits from their children and grandchildren and were always there for Linda's mom, Mavis and her brother, Harry. Ted continued to join his boys for hunting trips each Fall. As always, family came first. Ted made connections with others easily and was one of the friendliest people in the neighborhood, always willing to lend a hand or chat with a friend or neighbor. Along with hunting, camping and fishing Ted loved classic cars and car shows. Ted will always be remembered for his love for his family, his kind and caring way of making sure everyone knew how special they were to him, his friendly smile, and his big hugs. He loved life and knew what was most important. He will live on in each of us...every hunt, family gathering, and funny saying shared. Ted was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Jensen and his mother, Edith Jensen. He is survived by his wife, Linda Jensen; children Wayne (Karen) Jensen and Troy (Mandy) Jensen; grandchildren: Ryan, Ty, Logan, Brashaud and Bryce; siblings: Garlene, Elodee "Bugs", Max and Gary; nieces and nephews, and many friends. Ted's life will be celebrated at a memorial service to be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 20, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. A zoom link for the service will be available.
