Carole Dianne Stevens

Carole Dianne Stevens, 75, was born in Winnipeg, Canada May 3, 1945 and passed away in Kuna, Idaho February 22, 2021 due to complications of Lewy Body Dementia. Carole is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Doris Youngs, her sister Gail Wolfgram and her husband, school administrator and coach, Robert Stevens, 58, of Twin Falls Idaho. Carole was an industrious mother. To make ends meet on the single salary of a teacher, she sewed clothing for her seven children including shirts, pants, underclothes, and even taught her children to darn socks. She cooked every meal from scratch. As a family we canned many fruits and vegetables, thus a large garden was a must. Of course, there was a cow to be milked, chickens to tend, pigs to feed then butcher, property, and the home to maintain. After her duties of motherhood subsided, she pursued her nursing degree. She attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyoming, where she earned her LPN. She was a nurse in southeast Idaho for a few agencies. She worked with the resident doctors at ISU, home health in Montpelier, a small clinic in Lava Hot Springs, and her last job with West Family Medicine in Pocatello. Previous patients still talk about the caring and personal approach she had with everyone. From 2007-09, she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in Suva, Fiji. She loved her time there serving the Lord in a beautiful country. For a period of years, Carole had "Grandma's Camp". For a week she had a camp for her grandchildren, where she had crafts for the children, gospel teaching, and activities. She used that time to connect with her grandchildren over that week. Each child was sent home with an experience to tell. Carole was a friend to all. She was able to make small talk, share her life with others, and leave them feeling better than when she first entered their life. She shared love and happiness with all those who crossed her path. The last years of her life, she lived with family and continued her hobbies of painting, refinishing furniture, and spending time with family and friends. Carole even gave in to her life-long wish for a horse and cared for "Stella" for several years. Carole's family would like to thank Dr. Parkinson and Horizon Hospice for their genuine care through the end of her life. Also, a debt of gratitude goes out to all of Carole's friends who have been loving and supportive of her through the years. Carole is survived by her brother R. Mark (Maurine) Youngs, brother-in-law Glen (Gail) Wolfgram, her seven children: R. Scott Stevens; Michelle (Mike) Roholt; Michael (Angela) Stevens; Kristen (Sean) Garren; Lisa (Laren) Andreasen; Angela Stevens; Todd (Crystal) Stevens and loved by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Though her journey in the physical has drawn to a close, a new chapter, a new book, has already begun as friends and family reunite and together face eternity. A viewing will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, February 26, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3305 W Kuna Road, Kuna, Idaho.
