Carolyn Rae Ready Perkins, 71, or Nampa, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday December 12, 2016. Carolyn was born April 16, 1945 in Compton, California to Thurman and Helen Knapp Ready. She graduated from Basic High School in 1963. In 1962 she married the love of her life, John Perkins. They celebrated 54 years of marriage. Carolyn held many jobs and titles in her life, however, she was most proud of the role of wife, mother, and grandmother. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Linda and Nancy and grandson Drew. She is survived by her loving husband John, brother Jim; 6 children: James (Renna), Belinda, Greg (Toni), Johnny (Laura), Eric (Amber) and Jennifer (Aaron); 20 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Carolyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many church callings; most notable were: Relief Society president, Young Women's president and Young Women's camp leader. She LOVED family genealogy and doing temple work. It was one of her greatest passions, next to USC Football. Her family, both past and present were her everything. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 16 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. Funeral services and burial will take place at Palm Memorial Park-Green Valley, Las Vegas (702-464-8300).
