Janice Kay Dombroski

Janice Kay Dombroski March 13, 1945 - December 7, 2019 Janice Kay Dombroski, 74, peacefully passed away at her Boise, Idaho residence, into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on December 7, 2019. A service celebrating Janice's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Middleton LDS Chapel, 1749 Willis Rd, in Middleton, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the Church, prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at the Middleton Cemetery. Arrangements are being provided by the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 208-467-7300. Janice was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on March 13, 1945, to John and Genevieve Bowlby. She attended local schools and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1963. Janice left home after high school graduation to attend Butte Business College in Butte, Montana. It was in Butte where she met the love of her life, Ben Dombroski. Ben and Janice were married on June 22, 1964, and enjoyed 44 years together. They made their home in Butte where they raised three children until moving to Middleton, Idaho, in 2006. Janice stayed home with the family until Ben, a boiler maker for the Anaconda Company, was disabled and could no longer work. She went to work at various positions, including secretarial work for Waite Oil Company, in the kitchen at St. James Hospital, and for several years as a tax accountant for Montana Power in the 1980's. After Montana Power, Janice worked in various roles at Summit Valley Title Company, McLeod Realty, and Kmart. Janice then joined Ben in "retirement" and started traveling. Together, Ben and Janice spent several winters in Bullhead City, Arizona, summers in Butte, and many cross-country trips in between. Janice and Ben joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2005. They were sealed eternally together in the Boise Idaho Temple prior to Ben's death in 2008. Janice continued serving actively in the Church until she moved to the Overland Court memory care facility in Boise in 2017. She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, loved serving in the Church, and especially loved ministering to others. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all she met. Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband Ben Dombroski of Butte, Montana; her father and mother, John and Genevieve Bowlby of Sandpoint, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Mark Rautio of Butte, Montana; and grandson Christopher Dombroski. Janice will be greatly missed by those who survive her. They include her sister Betty (Les) Johnson of Newman Lake, Idaho; brother Richard Bowlby of Sandpoint, Idaho; sons and daughters-in-law Robert (Karola) Dombroski of Spokane, Washington, and Ron (Julie) Dombroski of Middleton, Idaho; grandchildren: Brittany (Robert) Gee, Tiffany (William Graves -Boyle) Rautio, Whitley Rautio, Mallory (Dale) Gustafson, James Dombroski, Emma, Alex, Sarah, Timothy, Tanon, and Olivia Dombroski; great-grandchildren: Austen and Samara Gee, Ada Rautio-Boyle, Zenadaya, Zion, Zayna, and Zelina Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen, Shriners Children's Hospital, LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund, Ronald McDonald House Charities, or Our Lady of the Rockies. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and aides at Keystone Hospice and Overland Court Memory Care who assisted with Janice's care in the final months of her life.
