Shiran Kay Behrman

Shiran Kay McGowen Behrman, 77 of Nampa, Idaho, passed away February 28, 2022, in Payette, ID. Shiran was born February 18, 1945 in Caldwell, Idaho, to Jessie Martin Reeves McGowen and Goldie Myree Whitten. She married on February 12, 1961, to Paul Dwaine Luna. Three boys and one girl were born to this union. She later married in 1967 to Don Michael Wolf, and widowed in 1968, whose last name was used by the four Luna children until junior high grades. Both Don and a 3rd short marriage to William "Bill" McGinley are said to have fathered other children to Shiran, all not living long. After moving to Arkansas for a short time and then to Louisiana, Shiran married Hermon Lemore Muse, adding three more sons to her family and lastly a daughter, who only survived a couple days. In 1980, Shiran moved back to Idaho and married John Robert Behrman on July 23, 1984, this marriage lasting until she passed away. In Mom's earlier years she wrote songs and performed with several entertainers. She was a self-taught guitarist and singer. Her daughter Genette and son Jesse used to go along with her singing at gigs and making a few bucks for themselves. She never really got her big break but did meet and play with Earnest Tubb and Narvel Felts and others, and she loved it. She had other talents as well. She was great at drawing, coloring and crocheting. She loved all her grandkids (too many to keep count), she claimed everyone whether biological or step, it didn't matter to her. Just as many of our childhood friends called her mom, she also cared for her handicapped nephew Dwight Parker (who is the son of her sister Connie) for many years after Connie passed away early in life. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William David Hailey; sister, Connie Yvonne Campbell; daughter, Goldie Muse; grandson, Austin Luna son of Basil Luna; granddaughters, Pheebee Muse daughter of Herman Muse, Ramie Muse daughter of Martin Muse, Billie Ann Luna and Shasta Amyx daughters of Jesse Luna. She is survived by sons Basil Luna (Lisa), Jesse Luna and Linda Butts, Paul Luna (Cheri) and daughter Genette Rainey (Ebi), and Herman Muse all of Nampa ID; Bobby Muse (Rachelle) of LA; Martin Muse of Ill.; Grandkids: BJ, Chris, Renee, Goldie, Colton, Shiran, Justine, Brandon and Jacob Upchurch and Olivia and Isaac Johnson of Basil Luna; Grandkids, Marilyn and Amanda Luna, Ira, Amyx, Ben, and Dezi Niclaus, Cody Ingram, Lucas Grigsby, Corey and Troy Butts and many others of Jesse Luna; Grandkids, Nathan and Vanessa Aiken, Brett Rainey and Leslie Eberle of Genette Rainey; Grandkids, Brandon and Zachory Luna, JC Clack, Calyn Petterson, Christy Davis, Troy Pulley and others of Paul Luna; Grandkids, Herman and William Muse of Herman Muse; Grandkids, Connie, Jodie, Katie, Carlie, Bobby "Bubba", Bailey and Jonie Muse of Bobby Muse; Grandkids, Zane and Jonathan Muse of Martin Muse; and at least 37 great grandkids that I can think of, including Vanessa's daughter, Neveah, that Mom helped raise. Mom left a great legacy and will be missed by many. Zeyer Funeral Chapel has provided a ZOOM link for family and friends who are unable to attend the services.
