Clara Mallea

Our beloved Clara Urquidi Mallea, 77, graduated to heaven on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home in Boise, ID surrounded by her loved ones. Clara was born on August 5, 1944, in La Paz, Bolivia to her cherished parents, Victor Urquidi and Maruja Farfan. Clara and Victor Alfonso Mallea, fell in love and were married in La Paz in 1965. They were blessed with a beautiful family of three daughters. Clara's daughters were her whole heart and as she raised them, she taught them her love for life. Clara and her family moved to the United States in 1973 to Miami, FL. In 1976 the family relocated to Tampa, FL where they resided until 2012. Clara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous callings for the Church, including Relief Society President, primary teacher, librarian, and Temple worker. Clara also worked, managing her husband's medical practice office in Tampa, for many years. Clara's husband passed away in 2006, and she and her daughter, Carmen, moved to Boise, ID in 2012. Clara made friends quickly in Boise and was part of a special group that she helped create in her church ward called Women of Wisdom. Clara was the perfect party hostess and thrived in social climates as well as exhibited endless generosity as she welcomed friends and family into her home to enjoy festivities. Clara had a wide range of friends whom she adored and often kept in touch with even when she moved far away. Clara treasured the beauty of other countries and shared this enthusiasm for others as she collected photos and memorabilia traveling the world with her husband, her daughters, and eventually her grandchildren. Clara loved being a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Her life touched many lives, and she will be missed by all. Her endless shower of love and kindness will never be forgotten. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Gonzalo Urquidi. She is survived by her three daughters: Miriam Patricia Mallea Southern (John), of Nampa, ID, Carmen Gloria Mallea of Boise, ID, and Cinthya Isabel Mallea Boettcher (Chris) of Snohomish, WA; one stepdaughter Elizabeth Mallea Hansen (Jeff) of Moses Lake, WA; two siblings; 14 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Clara's funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2299 North Five Mile Road in Boise, Idaho.
