Verlin Lloyd Compton, also known as "Vee", passed away on April 22, 2023, at the age of 78 in Nampa, Idaho. He was born on May 6, 1944, in Boise, Idaho to Lloyd and Lisbeth Compton. Vee attended Boise High School and Boise Junior College.Vee served proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1972, as a Navy Seaman with Fleet Composite Squadron Three in San Diego, CA. Previous to that, he was a firefighter and smoke jumper before transitioning into finance and management roles after the Navy. He worked as a manager at the Boise U.S. Credit Union, Ellsworth Dodge, Teds Chrysler, Meridian Ford, and U.S.A. Cars. He also worked at Micron Tech.Vee was a passionate and caring soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was known for being a "doctor" to his daughter during her battle with cancer, and he stood by his wife Sherrie for 43 years as her best friend and loving partner. Vee was stubborn at times but always stood up for what he believed. He loved western shows and stories, hunting, fishing, camping, and antique weapon collecting. He was also a skilled craftsman who enjoyed leather crafting and beading. One of the most interesting facts about Vee was that he had a full beard for over 43 years, and not even his family had seen him without it.Vee is survived by his wife Sherrie Compton; and sons Sterling and Shad Compton. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Compton and mother Lisbeth Compton; son Shane Compton; and daughter Shelley Compton.Vee will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His life impacted everyone who came into his life, and he will be forever in our hearts.Graveside service will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise.
