Christine H. Babcock, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from health issues at a Meridian hospital. She was born March 9, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Oscar and Camille Christiansen Holmgren. She was raised in Holladay, Utah where she graduated from Olympus High School before continuing her education at Utah State University. She also worked two summers in Yellowstone Park at the Old Faithful Lodge. While being employed at One Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaners in Holladay, she met Richard H. Babcock. Chris and Richard courted until April 14, 1967 where they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Holladay before building a home in Granger, Utah. They had three sons born to them while living in Utah and later moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1975 where they owned and operated Fashion Cleaners. A home was built on the East Bench where they continued to raise the family. Christine enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens and the many pets that made their way into her love and care. Christine and Richard sold the dry cleaning business on December 31, 2014 and packed up and moved to Nampa in May 2015 to be near family and grandchildren. Christine was proceeded in death by her mother and father, son Jeffrey Ray Babcock and grandson Shane Petersen. She is survived by her husband Richard H. Babcock, sons Christian D. Babcock (Joy) of Nampa, Michael W. Babcock (Brenda) of Kuna, Ryan A. Babcock (Brook) of Mesa, Arizona and son Richard K. Babcock (Teresa) of Nampa. She is also survived by brothers Steven Holmgren (Gail) of Logan, Iowa and Peter Holmgren (Vickie) of Sandy, Utah, 3 grandsons, 3 granddaughters and 2 great-granddaughters. A memorial gathering will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to local animal shelters. Arrangements have been provided by Zeyer Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
