Acension Guerrero Urrutia, 72, of Emmett, passed away Saturday August 29, 2015 at his home with his wife by his side. Acension was born December 8, 1943. He was married to Amada Rodriguez Castillo. He is survived by wife and his children: Claudia, Acension C. Urrutia (Jr.), Rene, Liliana, Arturo, and Gabriel. Acension served in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. While serving in Vietnam he was awarded the Certificate of Achievement from the 1st Signal Brigade USASTRATCOM for his performance and duties from October 1967 to June 1968. Acension was honorably discharged from the army in 1972. After migrating from Texas and other states, Acension, his wife and children, moved to Emmett Idaho in the late-1970's where he and his wife raised their family and had a place to call home. He was a devoted family man and always cared for his children and grandchildren. He would greet strangers with a smile and greet family with hugs. The memories he gave us will be cherished and always be in our hearts forever. We thank Acension for everything he has done for us, taught us, and the lessons we learned from him and his accomplishments.
