Jack Delbert Cloward, 74, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 25, 2018, in the comfort of his home in Nampa, Idaho. Jack was born on November 27, 1943 in Salmon, Idaho to Bazel and Trola Cloward. He was raised in Challis, Idaho and spoke often of his fond memories of growing up there with his siblings. During his teenage years he worked for a local rancher herding sheep and cattle. Jack was a "horse whisperer" and broke wild horses. His spirit was at one with that of a horses' spirit. He was a cowboy at heart and enjoyed this type of work from the age of 12 until after he graduated high school and joined the Army. We always enjoyed his stories of life as a cowboy in the mountains of Idaho. That time in his life was very special to him. He attended Challis High School where he enjoyed playing football, basketball, and the drums in the band. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years. We are very proud and grateful for his work as a Special Forces Air Borne Ranger during the Vietnam War. He then spent the rest of his career as an engineer working for Milliken, Russell Corporation, ESI and Winco Foods. Over the years he loved to spend time watching sports, traveling, reading, cooking, riding his Harley, dancing, hunting, fishing, and target shooting. He blessed his family with endless service. Jack loved to spend time with his family. He kept us smiling with his humor and stories. His children are grateful to have been raised by a father that taught the importance of hard work, unconditional love, Christ-like service, and of endless truths of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Jack is survived by his wife Laurie Cloward; his son and daughter-in-law Jade Cloward and Sheila Cloward; his daughter and son-in-law Jantzen Cloward Boehm and Erik Boehm; four grandchildren: Haiden, Henry, Lillian, and Jacob; seven siblings and their spouses: Mardelle and Bob, Ann and Nyle, Larry and Cookie, Mae and Dale, Sue and Gary, and Jerry; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; two step-sons Collin and Chad Blair; father and mother-in-law Orville and Arvetta Cheek; and his beloved sweet dog Bykir.
