Ralph William Cook Jr.

Ralph William Cook Jr., 71, of Nampa, passed away Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at Saint Luke's Hospital in Boise, surrounded by his family. He was born September 21, 1943 in Flint, Michigan. Ralph grew up in Spring Lake, Michigan and graduated from Spring Lake High School class of 1961. He served in the Air Force for four years. While stationed in Thailand he became pen pals with his future bride, and returned to Edwards Air Force base in California to finally meet Rama Wilson. They were married in Lancaster, California in 1967 and sealed in the Logan Utah LDS Temple in 1971. Ralph and Rama were married for forty eight years at his passing. Ralph and Rama moved their growing family to the Nampa area in 1970. He was an office manager and entrepreneur. Ralph was involved in many service organizations in his life, the longest being with the Boy Scouts of America, and the Kiwanis Club. In his later years he enjoyed model trains. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph William Cook, Sr.; sister Emily Ann Cook; grandparents Bert and Laura Feller, and William and Lula Mae Cook. He is survived by his wife Rama of Nampa, ID; mother Arlene of Meridian, ID; four sons: Don (Julie) of Des Moines, IA, Scott (Kylee) of Farmington, UT, Ryan (Lori) of Moscow, ID, and Nick (Jan) of Nampa, ID, as well as 11 grandkids. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 9 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 2212 E. Amity Ave in Nampa. Burial services will be held on Thursday, May 7 at the Idaho State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to attend must arrive by 10:45 a.m. Thanks to those who provided care for Ralph.
