Jerry John Kidd 79, of Nampa, passed away June 14, 2022. He was born to John M. and Mary Leah Galloway Kidd on January 25, 1943 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Payette High School in 1961. He later went to Brigham Young University and graduated in 1966 with a degree in English and Communications with a minor in Art.He met Jeannie McQueen while attending BYU and later married her on January 27, 1966 and raised ten wonderful children.Jerry lived in Weiser and Payette, Idaho; Star, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; Chicago, Illinois; Arizona; and later the Nampa/Caldwell, Idaho area. He worked in the ad business, was a producer in the entertainment business, sung with the Idaho and Utah Opera for 14 years, ran a mortgage company with his wife Jean, and was presently an entrepreneur working on the building of a factory for the reconstitution of onion drip tape. He was also involved in building a gasohol or alternative energy plant in the 80's.Some of Jerry's hobbies included painting and writing. He enjoyed writing short stories. He authored and published the book "Turnipseed the Tooth Faerie." He was presently working on three other books as well. Jerry also enjoyed the great outdoors and fishing.Jerry never met a stranger, only friends he hadn't met yet. He believed in the importance of family. He made it a priority to attend as many family functions as possible. He was kind hearted and generous. Porsches were irresistible to him and he loved driving them. He served as a committee member for the South Jordan Utah 4th of July Celebration. He also served for a period of time as President of Bnai Sha'lom, a group of Jewish members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Jerry later married Laurene Wright on January 25, 2018.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Kidd and Leah Galloway; sister Norene; his first wife Jean McQueen; and daughter Jamie. He is survived by his immediate family: Dixie Larson, Sherrie Scott, Rowena Eichler Strain, and Galen Kidd; his children: Jill (Chuck), Jinjer (Dave), David (Elizabeth), Jennifer, Katie (Jamie), Jodi (Jesus), Jan (Jimmy), Elise (Matt) and Jacob (Kim); 36 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his present wife, Lauren Wright-Kidd; stepson Jerom Hudgins; stepdaughter, Kira Underwood (Jared); and 3 grandsons: Logan, Jayden, and Ryder.Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 18486 Middleton Rd, Nampa, ID 83687. Viewing from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Church prior to the services.
