Terry J Roedel, 74, Caldwell, Idaho, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 peacefully at home of cancer.Terry was born on Sept. 4, 1942 in Caldwell, Idaho , to Oscar and Helen Jorgenson Roedel. He was the oldest of four boys. He was raised on the family farm in the Marble Front Community east of Caldwell and spent most of his life on this family land.He attended the Marble Front School, Caldwell High School and graduated from Middleton High School in 1960. He then attended Boise Junior College, Ricks College and Brigham Young University. Terry ultimately received his Masters of Education Degree from the University of Idaho.Terry married Sharon Price in the LDS Idaho Falls Idaho Temple for time and all eternity on June 3, 1965. They raised four children together, mainly in the Caldwell area.Terry compiled records last summer and he and his family were awarded the Idaho Century Farm award in the fall of 2016. He was very proud to live on the original farm that his grandparents purchased in1909.He was employed by the Bureau of Land Management for 32 summers in fire suppression. He spent his career in the field of education with the Buhl School District, the Nampa School District and retired after his time in the Caldwell School District. He held many positions in teaching, coaching and administration.Terry was a hobby farmer/rancher. He loved to work! He really liked spectator sports of all kinds. After retirement, he enjoyed travelling. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around with people.Terry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including as a temple worker in the Boise Idaho temple./He is survived by his wife Sharon, of Caldwell, Idaho. Children: Shaun (Jaimie), of Houston, Texas, Krista Kingston (Dane), Caldwell, Idaho, Brad (Denise), Ammon, Idaho, and Sherry Mills (Shaun), Middleton, Idaho and 16 grandchildren. Brothers Richard (Debbie) and Steve (Karen) both from Caldwell, Idaho also survive Terry.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert and grandson Cooper Kingston.Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Canyon Hill Cemetery, 2024 N. Illinois Ave, Caldwell. A viewing will be held from 6:30 -8:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 at the LDS Caldwell East Stake Center, 11792 Linden Rd, Caldwell. Arrangements by Zeyer Funeral Chapel.
