Beloved mother and grandmother Brenda L Carpenter (Hehr) went home to be with her Lord and Savior, that she loved so dearly, in the early morning of March 10, 2021 at home with her family around her loving her to the gates of heaven. Brenda put up one hell of a graceful and courageous fight against the beast of glioblastoma brain cancer never losing her faith. She was a warrior. Brenda is survived by her daughter Debbie (Todd) Harris; granddaughter Jessica (Jon)Gormsen ; grandson Cody (Hailey)Harris;, and granddaughter Tricia Mann; great grandchildren: Jordan Harris; Rylee Gormsen; Treyson Harris; Jaxton Gormsen; and Titus Harris. Niece: Lori (Caleb) Waters; nephews Kevin and Kurt Imes. Brenda was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Hehr, mother Thelma Hehr, sister Donna Imes and brother Kenneth Hehr.Brenda was born in Akron, OH to Kenneth and Thelma Hehr on August 25th, 1942. She moved to Skagit County, Washington at a young age with her parents, sister Donna Jean and brother Kenneth Lee. They grew up on Samish Island and then Sedro-Woolley where they made their home. Brenda graduated from Sedro Woolley High School in 1961 and married Joe Carpenter April 26th, 1963 on Samish Island. They made Sedro-Woolley their home where they raised their daughter Debbie Carpenter. Brenda worked for many years as a paralegal for Judge Ridgeway, and almost 20 years for Stiles Law Firm, also selling real estate for Hendrickson Realty. Brenda lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior, witnessing about Jesus and volunteering at Church of God of Prophecy, her second family. She also loved watching Dad race at Skagit Speedway, where we were his pit crew that kept the car looking great for every race. Brenda started a new adventure when she moved to Idaho in 1994 with her daughter and son-in-law Todd and her grandchildren, where her sister Donna Jean Imes and husband Ray Imes lived. In Idaho, Brenda worked for a number of years at Micron and went on to retire and spend her time witnessing for the Lord and working at her church. Brenda would pray and reach out to her neighbors as she was led by Jesus and the Holy Spirit. She would go door to door and write letters to her neighbors telling them the good news about our Savior. Brenda was the center of her family and a rock for all of us to lean on. An ever-present loving mother and grandmother she loved to attend all sporting, BMX Races or Gymnastic events that the kids were involved in, she was their biggest fan. Brenda had the kindest heart and the most beautiful, sweet soul. She was the closest to perfect as humanly possible. She loved deeply, purely and unconditionally. She was genuinely happy with the simplest things in life, and never wanted for more. She poured her heart into every single person she encountered so selflessly. The world was a better place with her in it. Mother always had the perfect advice and wisdom, she was always there to wipe your tears, she poured her heart and soul into her family and friends and served the lord with every breath. I could write a million words and it still would not be good enough to explain how special she was to everyone who knew her. And if you never had the priceless opportunity of knowing her, you missed out on greatness. She was truly one in a billion. While fighting this battle, she was still the one holding her family together. What an immense blessing it was to have her as our mother and grandma. Brenda sure did cling to that old rugged cross and exchanged it too soon for a crown. She was the definition of a true Christian and lived every minute of her life as the hands and feet of Jesus. Please join us in celebrating the beautiful life she lived. Her service will be this coming Friday March 19th 2pm at Church of God of Prophecy in Nampa Idaho followed by burial at Kohlerlawn Cemetery. A celebration of life following the burial back at the Church of God of Prophecy will be held around 5.Rest in paradise Mom, Grandma and friend to all! We will never stop missing you.
