He also leaves behind two sisters, Laverna Carter and Phyllis (Sos) Valdez; and sister-in-law Kathy Williams. Boyd was born in Castle Dale, Utah, in 1942 to Lyle and Chloe Williams. They moved to Ogden, UT, when he was young, where he spent most of his growing up years. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and spent most of his career working for Motorola in Phoenix, AZ. Boyd and Dot got married in 1973, raised their four children in Mesa, AZ, and lived there for 30+ years. Boyd was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including: a Missionary in Norway when he was 19, Bishop, Scoutmaster, and Stake Clerk. He also served as a Senior Missionary with Dot in both Salt Lake City, UT and Nauvoo, IL. They both served in various temples for many years. Boyd served diligently in whatever capacity he was called and was loved and respected by many. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke everyone listened. In his spare time Boyd loved woodworking. He could fix anything and was a very hard worker. He also wrote poems and created pictograms for cards, plates, and T-shirts for fun family vacations/reunions. We love him and will miss him, but we are happy to know he is now free from the pains of this life, and we know we will see him again.
