Linda Lou Wheeler Carr

Linda Lou Wheeler Carr, 74, of Nampa, Idaho passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 in Lincoln City, Oregon. Linda was born July 21, 1942 in Butte, Montana to Frank and Helen Ewing. She adored her parents and younger sister Patty. They enjoyed their experiences and friendships made in Montana. The Ewing family moved to Kuna, Idaho where Linda fell in love and married Kenneth Joe Wheeler. As they settled down and started a family they experienced a fullness of joy in seeing their children grow. Linda loved babies and had her hands full for many years. She stayed very close to her parents and sister through all the challenges along the way. They brought her much comfort and joy. Linda and Kenneth were hard workers and honorable in their service to God. A deep love for the Savior accompanied with obedience to His commandments was instilled in their family. Love and service to others was constantly taught through their faithful examples. Linda was sensitive to the needs of others and countless meals and acts of service were rendered by her. Linda had a generous nature and shared openly with all she knew. She served faithfully in many positions within the church including Relief Society president, Young Womens, and Primary. Welcoming grandchildren into the world brought fun into Linda's life. She made sure each one felt like her favorite! Lots of memories were made at the family cabin in McCall. Kenneth and Linda were beginning to build a new cabin and retire in Cascade, Idaho when Kenneth was killed in a construction accident. Great sorrow swept over the family at the loss of their beloved husband and father. A new and very different chapter in Linda's life had come into play. She spent a lot of time at the Oregon Coast and in the mountains 4-wheeling. She was treasured by dear friends and family who enjoyed her company. Her competitive nature was exposed around the kitchen table over a hot game of cards! In February of 2002 Linda married Kermit Carr. They continued to enjoy the cabin and 4-wheeling with their children and grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling to the Oregon Coast with friends. They spent countless hours serving Frank and Helen on their farm and caring for them as their health declined. They found comfort together as they buried their parents and made those difficult transitions. Linda is survived by Kermit Carr of Nampa; children: Joe (Jolene) Wheeler of Nampa, Christy (David) Garner of Salt Lake City, UT, Brad Wheeler of Nampa, Shane (Tonya) of Parma, Shannon Wheeler of Nampa and Sheree (Tyler) Godfrey of Salt Lake City, UT; 31 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at the LDS Chapel, 3007 Sunnyridge Rd in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 10 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa (208-467-7300) and at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the services.
