Larry W. Cooper

Larry W. Cooper, 73, went to his heavenly home on October 26, 2015 in Nampa, Idaho. He was born on March 30, 1942 in Wheaton, Missouri to Cecil and Dorothy Copper. They moved to Yakima, WA when he was young. He grew up there, working in the orchards, and graduated from Highland High School, and then married Janice Rice in 1959. In 1962, Larry and Janice moved to Nampa. He worked for over 38 years at Honstead Motor Co. first as a painting specialist and then as body shop manager. He also drove for the wrecker service. Larry loved to travel with his family. Fishing was one of his passions, spending weekends camping in the motorhome with his family. He loved to travel, visiting relatives and seeing wonderful places. He would take his family out in the boat to enjoy the outdoors and water ski. Larry was a beloved grandfather, always ready to help with problems, or more importantly, play games and give rides on the motorcycles and snowmobiles. Larry and Janice enjoyed Gospel music, traveling to CA, AR and various places to hear their favorite singing groups, especially our local Liberty Quartet. His family was important to him and he showed that in many ways. He will be greatly missed by all. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dorothy Cooper and a brother Verne Cooper. He is survived by his wife Janice; his three children: Sheryl (Royce) Tanner, Sandra Powell and Gary (Arlene) Cooper; eight grandchildren: Justin Powell, Jason Powell, Wyatt McClure, Ryan Tanner, Shawna Mueller, Anna Williams, Jon Shoemaker, Laura Shoemaker and 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister Patricia DeMarco. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, at the Grace Bible Church, 1415 Lone Star Rd in Nampa.
