James "Jim" Ray Edmunds

James "Jim" Ray Edmunds passed peacefully March 19, 2019 with family by his side. Jim was born November 17, 1941 to Ray LaDrew Edmunds and Eva Annie Brown Edmunds (Stander) in Moroni, Utah. Jim was one of four children. Jim enlisted in the Navy February 23 of 1960 and served until February 18 of 1964 as a Fireman. Jim met Janice Marie Wills on a blind date and they were later married on October 19, 1961. Their relationship was an extraordinary love story that was witnessed by many. They were married for 57 years. If you had asked them what their secret was, they would both tell you "Never go to bed without saying I love you." To this union three children were born: Becky, Lynette, and David Edmunds. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 7, 2001. Jim was a social person and was great at working with people which is why he was so good with his life long career in sales. He really enjoyed people and you could say he never knew a stranger. Jim and Janice bought their first farm in Idaho. They raised calves, cattle, and bought and worked to tame wild horses. Jim loved the outdoors, especially the mountains, he always said it was God's country. He was an avid hunter. He taught all of his kids and grandkids how to hunt. When hunting season was close he would take a month of vacation to make sure he was on the mountain on opening day. When James and Janice retired they bought a motorhome and began to travel around the country. At several places they were "camp hosts. They later sold their motorhome and bought their home in Shoshone. Dad and mom were amazing dancers together. When they hit the dance floor people would clear the floor to watch. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Janice Edmunds; his parents; and one brother Robert (Bob) Edmunds. He is survived by his three children: Becky (Jay) Ralls, Lynette (John) Griggs and David Edmunds; his 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother Dick (Jody) Edmunds; and sister Loretta (Ricky) Warner. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the services.
