Henry Gene Marez

Henry Gene Marez, 81, of Nampa went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 25, 2023, at a local hospital with his family by his side. Henry was born August 9, 1941, to Alexander and Mary Marez in Nyssa, Oregon. Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend. Henry loved camping, fishing, and spending time with family. He married the love of his life Virginia Marez on June 7, 1964, and they made their home in Nampa, Idaho. Henry and Virginia had three wonderful children: Alex John Marez, Danny Gene Marez, and Lisa Ann Marez. Henry was a hardworking man. He worked for Fleet Wood Mobile Home for 15 years, and he also worked for Selkirk Metabasites in Nampa, Idaho for 35 Years. In 1998, Henry opened his own business, a longtime dream of his, and worked till he was 80 years old, then he retired. His daughter and granddaughter will carry on his dream with his business to keep his legacy going. Henry loved making memories with his children and grandchildren and his great-grandson Alex James Burr. Henry's favorite holiday was every holiday because he and his wife had their children with them. Henry is survived by his son Danny Marez (Sabre); his daughter Lisa Marez; grandson Adam Marez (Rachelle); granddaughter Briana Marez Burr(David); great-grandson Alex James Burr; and step granddaughter Allison Mayers; two brothers Pete (Elsie) Marez and Joe (Hazel) Marez . Henry was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Marez; his son Alex John Marez; his parents Alex and Mary Marez; his father-in- law and mother-in-law John and Frances Santistevan; and two siblings Johnny Marez and his sister Erma Scott. Henry will be missed by so many. He is now an angel flying high with his wife and son and so many family members. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, August 4 at the Lutheran Brethren Church located at 730 W Roosevelt Ave in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Thursday, August 3, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa, and at the church from 12 to 1:00 pm prior to the services. The services will be conducted by Pastor Jeremy Wilson. Burial will follow services at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa.
