Rebecca "Beckey" Ann Williams

Beckey (Mackey) Williams passed away March 12th at home surrounded by family. Beckey was born February 7, 1941, in Nampa, ID, to Harold & Ruth Ann (Beall) Mackey. Her mother passed away when she was just 3 months old. Harold then married Mary Haslam Broadbent who brought 7 children to the family. This new family was raised in Nampa, enjoying memorable summers at their Warm Lake cabin. She worked for her dad's businesses (Poor Boy Meat Market & the Terminal Hotel & Pool Hall) in downtown Nampa while attending Nampa High School (graduated 1959) and until she was married. Beckey met an airman at the dances in Boise and married him on January 14, 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on July 2, 1983. Ron's service in the USAF created the opportunity to travel to many places beginning in Mountain Home ID, then the Azores Islands (Lajes AFB), Loredo AFB TX, Topeka (Forbes AFB) KS, Holloman AFB NM, finally settling in Nampa ID in 1974, where they have lived since. Beckey was a dedicated wife and mother, most happy when being with and caring for Ron and the kids. At times Ron's service to our country took him away requiring a year or more in Vietnam and Korea, along with other shorter trips. Beckey would take on all of the family duties and then some. She was so supportive of her 5 children tirelessly attending all of her children's activities including football, volleyball, baseball, softball, school plays and concerts. Beckey spoke fondly of a girls' softball league she started at Holloman AFB and the team she coached to a championship in the inaugural season. She loved to be involved in her children's spiritual experiences and the temporal and spiritual lives of others. At different times she served as the President of her church's children, youth and women's organizations - Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. Her favorite 'calling' in her church was serving as Chair of the Activities Committee planning many well attended and loved events that brought people together in the name of her Lord and Savior. Beckey had a great laugh, a beautiful smile and loved being around extended family and friends at reunions and other gatherings. She led a life of love and service, leaving a great legacy for her family. We know she would like to thank all who touched her life and have been part of her circle of family and friends. She is survived by: husband, Ron (of 58 years), Rich (Debbie) Acampo CA; Ron, Williston ND; Lori (Richard) Potts, American Fork UT; Roy (Dalia), Shawnee KS; Kathy Williams, Williston ND; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Leonard Mackey, Kent WA; John (Virginia) Mackey, Boise ID; Bill (Pat) Doane, Tuscon AZ; Betty Watters, Kingman AZ. A service to honor her life will be held at 11am (viewing 10am) on March 19, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2212 E Amity, Nampa, ID. Condolences may be expressed at www.zeyerfuneralchapel.com.
