Lola May Stansbury (Montgomery) of Melba, Idaho passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lola was the daughter of Howard Albert Stansbury and Lucile Bessie Winder. She was born at home on January 11, 1941, in Nampa, Idaho. Lola attended Melba schools as a teenager. While at Melba she met Raymond Montgomery. They fell in love and were married on February 2, 1957. To this union Ray and Lola had 5 children: Vern Arthur, Terry Howard, Tina Lyn, Danny Ray, and Candy Marie. While married to Ray, Lola was a true farmers wife. Not only taking care of her children, but also milking cows, irrigating and any other task that needed to be done. She was known for her baked goods and her wonderful recipe's for preparing many delicious dishes. Lola was a hard worker at everything she did. She passed that strong work ethic to her children. Ray and Lola divorced in 1979. Later she married Alvin York until his death in 1985. She loved spending time with family and friends. Lola could draw and paint pictures very well. She worked with ceramics for about 20 years. While making ceramics, she created treasures for many members of the family. One of her biggest passions was gardening. Growing every type of flower that she could. She didn't have a favorite flower, she loved them all. Lola also had a big vegetable garden, canning for many years. When she could no longer work outside, she spent her time putting puzzles together and doing her word finds. Lola was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Melba. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lucile, Stepmother Bea, her sisters, Debbie and Ilene, her sons, Vern, Terry and Danny. She is survived by her siblings, Ron Stansbury, Nancy (Ron) Nichols. Her daughters, Tina (Michael) Taylor and Candy (Norm) Byrne. Her grandchildren, Kami (Andy) Taylor, Dusty (Sonya) Deakins, Aaron (Sierra) Deakins, Brandi (Evan) Powers, Adam (Sheila) Hagaman, Danielle (Michael) Stanley, Jacob (Tiffany) Byrne and Jeremy (Ryia) Rushing
