"Sandi"

Sandra Darleen Thompson passed away on December 20 from complications after an accidental fall. Sandi was born to Sam and Verla Kincheloe in Caldwell on December 30, 1940. She was reared in Homedale and Nampa. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1958. While on a family vacation in McCall on July 4, 1955, Sandi met her life-long love, Jay Thompson, and they married in 1959. Jay and Sandi were married for nearly 63 years and have spent very little time apart. Sandi enjoyed a full life. She lived and worked in Nampa her entire life and, with Jay, raised three children. Many happy years were spent fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling in their motorhome. These trips were for fishing and crabbing vacations to Oregon and British Columbia. Jay and Sandi have immensely enjoyed many years at their family cabin, Whispering Pines, in Donnelly. Sandi had many careers during her working years. After working for the Nampa Police Dept. and Idaho First National Bank, she became a legal secretary, paralegal and then manager and vice president of a successful escrow company in Nampa before finally retiring in 2005. Sandi was also a fabulous musician, a talent she passed on to her grandchildren. Along with being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Sandi took especially good care of the older family members. She will be dearly missed by all, forever. Sandi is survived by her life-long love, Jay Thompson, and three children, Lori Lynn, Jodi Fergusson and Michael Jay Thompson. Also, ten grandchildren, Nathan Jay Moody, Megan Moody, Joshua Fergusson, Jacob Fergusson, Jared Fergusson, Justin Fergusson, Jennifer Fergusson, Cassie Thompson, Breanna Thompson-McCarthy and Ryan Thompson, as well as 19 great-grandchildren and two nieces, Traci Hoots and Shelli Stayner. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Sam and Verla, sister Donna Schmidt, uncle Gen. Niles Fulwyler and dear sister-in-law, Jan Long. Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Monday, December 27 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel located at 83 N. Midland Blvd in Nampa. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:30-11:45 AM. Burial will follow at the Melba Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity.
