Merlin Emery Ratliff, 75, passed away at his home Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Nampa, Idaho after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Boise, Idaho December 4, 1940 to his parents William E. Ratliff and Eva M. Ratliff. He graduated from Grandview High School in Idaho and Weber State College in Utah. He worked various jobs in Retail Management in Utah, Washington and Idaho. He was an active member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions. He served a mission for The Church in the Central British Birmingham England Mission. He was a soft-spoken person and an excellent listener. He liked to travel and loved taking pictures. Merlin was preceded in death by his father, William Emery Ratliff; his mother Eva Mae Ashmead; and a sister Eunice LaBerta (Douty) Ratliff. He leaves behind a wife Gail; and children: Tom, Liz, Leah, Marisa, Marinda and their families. Also living are step children: Michael, Nathan, Thomas, Ryan and their families. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Birch LDS Chapel located at 6111 Birch, Nampa, Idaho.
